Genesis Gear:
Relief Boot
Genesis Gear is a concept project developed in Fall 2019 at Pensole Footwear Academy with the MLab, FAAS studio and Portland Apparel Lab, and in exploration of materials presented by Polartec, Ariaprene, and Tiong Liong Corporation (TLC).
We looked to create products that would aid in the survival of natural disasters, from the angle of those in need, and those acting in response to disaster. Our group would consist of two 2D footwear designers (Michael Yun & myself), a Functional Apparel Designer (Ashley Narvaez), Concept Creator designer (Cory Lee), and Color & Material Designer (Carrington Brathwaite). From researching various incidents, we would hone our focus in on typhoons/hurricanes and the various hazards they bring on any community.
